Daimler has said it plans to produce over 1.25m Mercedes-Benz cars in 2011, a new record level, and added that the company’s plants continue to operate at almost full capacity as demand remains strong.
“Mercedes-Benz is going on the attack,” Daimler’s head of production Wolfgang Bernhard told Dow Jones.
Daimler added shifts and kept plants open during the summer months this year.
Production lines “will be shut down as briefly as possible” during the upcoming Christmas holiday season, the automaker said.
