In an interview with the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung newspaper, Fiat SpA’s Maserati unit chief executive officer Antonello Perricone said he expects a decision will be made in the next few weeks concerning technical cooperation projects with Volkswagen AG.

Perricone also said that a working group comprising engineers from Maserati, VW and VW’s luxury unit Audi have made progress in their work in the past few weeks.

In September, Fiat and VW said a letter of intent had been signed for several technical and commercial cooperation projects between Audi and Maserati. The two car makers are looking to share parts, use the same dealerships in some countries and combine their financial services activities.
