Porsche sold more than 38,500 vehicles worldwide in the first three months of this year, up from 37,009 in the first quarter of 2013.

The sportscar maker said it expects further growth with the introduction of the new Macan, which is now available in Europe and the Middle East. Board member for sales and marketing Bernhard Maier said: “In the first quarter we’re above last year’s good figures in every market. That says a lot about the great appeal of our brand and the attraction of our products.”

In the first three months, Porsche recorded growth in every region with China increasing 11.8% over the same period in 2013 to 9,885 cars. The US achieved sales of more than 10,136 units, a 5% gain. Globally, more than 6,600 Porsche Panameras were sold, a 17% increase compared to last year.
