Opel’s supervisory board has elected General Motors president Dan Ammann as its new chairman, succeeding Steve Girsky.
Ammann has been a member of the board since November 2011.
GM has also named further top executives to the supervisory Board: Mark Reuss, head of global product development, purchasing and supply; Julia Steyn, head of global mergers and acquisitions; Chuck Stevens, CFO and Jim DeLuca, who heads global manufacturing.
Mary Barra has left the supervisory board to focus on her new role as GM CEO. John Stapleton, who is now CFO of GM North America, has also left the board while Tim Lee, chairman of GM China, resigned because he is retiring.
