Magna International has announced that it is supplying front and rearview camera systems on the second-generation Ford S-Max, the first van to feature a comprehensive range of DAS technologies typically offered only in premium-class vehicles.

"We are proud to collaborate with Ford on the new S-Max," said Olaf Bongwald, vice president, Magna Electronics. "Supplying our camera systems for this sport activity vehicle, demonstrates our leadership position in the automotive camera technology market and illustrates our innovative and competitive capabilities."

The front and rearview camera systems offer S-Max drivers various technological features including rear static and dynamic guiding lines, rear parking distance control indicators and an 180o view split into three screens, which are displayed in the vehicle's cockpit. The systems enhance visibility and can detect objects earlier than the driver for improved safety.

The front and rearview camera systems supplied on the new S-Max will also be an optional feature on the 2016 model Ford Galaxy. Both the Ford S-Max sport activity vehicle and the new Galaxy will be available mid-September 2015.
