US-German auto group DaimlerChrysler is seeking a partner in China to expand its presence there, says the UK’s Financial Times (18/9/00).
Quoting Dieter Zetsche, DaimlerChrysler board member – responsible for both trucks and the Group’s Asian business – the FT says that the company is seeking a Chinese partner to play a dominant role there.
The decision aims to provide the group with a global presence in the truck market and underscores the Group’s goal to generate sales of 25 per cent in Asia, says the report.
