Beru has lifted its forecasts for sales revenues and earning in 2006, thanks to a strong second quarter and a good outlook for the full year. In a statement the company said that it anticipates only a moderate revival of worldwide demand for automobiles this year.

Nonetheless, Beru’s executive board is confident that it will deliver a strong performance due to the startup of new products in its Electronics and Sensor Technology division and further advances in production efficiency by its Diesel Cold-Start Technology and Ignition Technology divisions.

Assuming that the world economy and the automotive industry develop in line with market projections, the executive board expects total sales revenues in 2006 at the upper end of the previous target corridor of EUR 425m to EUR 435m, and possibly even slightly higher. BERU also anticipates correspondingly higher earnings before interest and taxes of at least EUR 52m (previous forecast: EUR 50m).
