Having debuted its 207 compact car at the Geneva motor show today (28 February), French manufacturer Peugeot said its plans to sell 500,000 units of the model in 2007.
Reuters quoted Peugeot brand manager Frederic Saint-Geours saying in a presentation at the event: “This new model will help us reach our objectives of regaining volume growth (in 2006) in west Europe and continued growth outside west Europe. Sales in France and Switzerland will start on April 6 and we aim to sell 500,000 units in 2007.”
He added that the company had invested EUR1 billion in the 207 compact car, which will have a bumper price of EUR12,000.
