GAC Energy Technology Company Ltd, the energy and EV charging infrastructure unit of Chinese state-owned automaker GAC Group, has signed an agreement with Longi Leye Photovoltaic Technology Company to collaborate in development and integration of technologies to help strengthen its EV charging networks.

The collaboration will focus on introducing new technologies and solutions in the areas of solar energy, energy storage systems (ESS), EV charging and battery swapping projects, as well as developing related vehicle technologies. The two companies will look to integrate ESS, EV charging and intelligent vehicle-to-home energy systems within an energy management platform, as well as develop off-grid energy solutions.

One key area of collaboration will be the introduction of cutting-edge photovoltaic technologies, such as perovskite solar modules, within GAC Group’s vehicle lineup.

The two companies will collaborate in building pilot projects involving microgrids, virtual power plants and vehicle-to-grid interactions. GAC Energy and Longi will share the resulting information and best practices, as required by the Chinese government’s “dual carbon” policies which aim to accelerate green and low-carbon development. The partnership will also look to create replicable models for international expansion, to help accelerate the globalization of sustainable energy initiatives.
