Mobile multi-media (MMM) business in the automotive sector is set to soar according
to Delphi.

Jose Maria Alapont, Delphi’s VP for Europe, the Mid-East and Africa told
Automotive News Europe’s Congress in Prague that he expected the value
of MMM in global OE fitment to rise from around US$9 billion in 2000 to US$42
billion by 2010.

Much of the rise will be accounted for by the provision of additional services
rather than direct hardware.

Delphi Automotive Systems is involved in extensive R&D work in MMM applications
for the automotive sector that include telematics and voice recognition technology.
