Renault's Dacia car factory in Mioveni, Romania, recorded a 4.8% increase in the number of units produced, in the first nine months of this year, to 242,600 cars, according to the company's data.

In September, the plant's output rose 9.9% compared to the same month of 2017, to over 30,600 units, romania-insider.com reported.

The Duster SUV was the most produced model, accounting for 68% of the total number of completed cars in the first nine months, followed by the Sandero (14.5%) and Logan (10%).

Dacia announced new engines and a more powerful navigation system at the Paris show.

New 1.3 TCe 130 GPF and 150 GPF engines for the Duster have a new, lighter aluminium engine block with innovations such as bore spray coating. This coating technology, used on the inside of the cylinder, through improved management of the heat allows better performance. To reduce particle emissions, the new direct injection petrol engines now integrate a gasoline particulate filter (GPF).

This new generation of petrol engine gives the Duster 130hp (96 kW) at 5,000 rpm and maximum torque of 240Nm at 1,500 rpm – another 5hp compared to the previous generation. The 150hp (110kW) at 5,250 rpm and maximum torque of 250 Nm at 1,600 rpm version is 25 hp more powerful.
