PSA Peugeot Citroën and Toyota Motor Corporation’s joint venture car plant in Kolín, Czech Republic, Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA), has built 2m vehicles.

TPCA was established in March 2002 and started production in February 2005. Producing the Peugeot 107, Citroën C1 and Toyota Aygo, all recently updated, TPCA took seven years and a month to achieve the production milestone.

Attendees at a ceremony to mark the occasion included Kolín city Mayor Vit Rakusan who was given the two-millionth car, a Peugeot 107, “as an expression of TPCA’s gratitude to the Czech community for its significant support”, according to the automaker.

Last year, Toyota Motor Europe sold 89,252 Aygo vehicles.
