Czech car makers and official importers sold a total of 88,346 new passenger cars for the first seven months of 2002, 2.8% less year-on-year, Czech News Digest said, citing the director of the Association of Automotive Industries (SAP).


A total of 148,000 new passenger cars are expected to be sold in 2002, 3% down year-on-year, Sipek told Czech News Digest.


Skoda sold 45,400 new passenger cars for the first seven months of 2002, 8.1% less year-on-year and its share of the Czech car market reached 51.4% for January to July 2002, Czech News Digest said.
