Output from China’s tyre industry is expected to reach 420m units this year – up 10.5% according to reports citing the China Rubber Industry Association.
However, Chinese media are reporting the Association’s secretary general Deng Yali as noting high rubber prices were affecting profitability of the industry.
China’s tyre production was 380m in 2009, with the country targeting nearly 570m by the end of 2015.
The figure has apparently been suggested by the Association as part of the tyre industry’s 12th five-year plan.
