Toyota in China has said that it will stop production until at least Wednesday at two plants in northern China following last week’s explosions and subsequent disruption in the port of Tianjin.

Due to ongoing evacuation advisories, none of the three lines at Tianjin FAW Toyota Motor Co Ltd. will be in operation this week through to August 19, Toyota said.

There will also be knock-on effects for a plant at Xiqing because it needs parts produced at the Tianjin plant.

Toyota is still assessing damage and observing contamination advisories from local authorities.
