Ford sales in China jumped 25% in July to 90,775 taking year so for sales to 640,031, and increase of 33% on last year.

The car maker’s joint venture, Changan Ford (CAF), sold 64,130 vehicles in July, up 19% compared to 53,947 in July 2013. Sales of Ford SUVs, the Kuga and EcoSport, were up 10% and 22% respectively. EcoSport sales are running 83% ahead of last year.

Mondeo sales were up 807% to 10,154 and are now running more than 150% of 2013 at 69,880 vehicles. Ford’s commercial vehicle venture in China, Jiangling Motors Corporation (JMC), sold 22,031 vehicles in July, up 33% while year-to-date sales reached 154,969 vehicles, an increase of 22%.

Ford said it remains on track to bring 15 new vehicles to China by the end of 2015 as part of its accelerated growth plan in the country. It has seven manufacturing plants in China, with three additional plants currently under construction.
