It is reported that FAW Hainan will commence sales of Mazda’s Familia car this week and aims to sell them at a rate of around 10,000 per annum.

Ford’s Mazda unit has an agreement with China’s First Automotive Works to build its Premacy and Familia models. The operation in China assembles the vehicles from kits supplied by Mazda.

The 1.6-litre-engine Familia is expected to sell for around 160,000 yuan ($19,200) and the 1.8-litre model for around 180,000 yuan. The first deliveries of the Hainan Island-made cars are expected to be made in September.
