While PSA is experiencing troubled times in Europe, the company is expanding its overseas operations and growing its global footprint. A joint venture in China is one example. Dongfeng Citroën aims to achieve sales of 400,000 vehicles in 2015.
Dongfeng Citroën’s deputy director Lahouari Bennaoum told the Information Times that the joint venture would easily reach its sales target of 263,000 units for 2013. Bennaoum said overall sales volume for the year may even reach 280,000 to 300,000 units. He said the company had set a sales target of 400,000 units for 2015.
Bennaoum said four models of the JV were likely to cross monthly sales of 10,000 units and annual sales of 100,000 units in 2015. These include the C4L, C4, Elysée and an upcoming SUV. The C4 has been the only model to meet those expectations so far. Bennaoum expects the C4L to meet sales expectations in 2014, and Elysée and the new SUV in the following year.
