The Xinhua News Agency reports that the sale and production of automobiles in China is strongly up this year.


Citing figures released by the National Bureau of Statistics, it is reported that China manufactured 267,900 cars in the first four months of this year, 27.6% ahead of the same period last year. Car output surged 50.5% in April to 90,000 units, ‘a record high for the country’.


The Xinhua report says that total vehicle sales reached 982,200 units in the first four months, an increase of 22.3% over the same period of last year. The sales growth of cars was 28.3%; trucks were up 25.3% and buses up 14.3%.
