BMW Brilliance Automotive, a joint venture between BMW and Brilliance China, will add at least 50 dealerships in 2011, sales and marketing chief Daniel Kirchert said.

The company has increased its dealership network to nearly 200 sales outlets from 150 in early this year, and will open another 50 mostly in the second- and third-tier cities next year, gasgoo.co, citing a Beijing Times report, said.

Network development has become a top priority for the German automaker and will be expedited continuously, Kirchert said. BMW plans to extend the network to prefecture-level and country-level cities, and the third- and fourth-tires cities gradually, he added.

In the first 11 months of this year, BMW delivered 152,866 vehicles in mainland China, of which Mini sales surged 140% year on year to 9,170 units.
