Halla Visteon Climate Control Corp. (HVCC) has celebrated the opening of its first manufacturing facility in South America. The new plant in Atibaia, in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil, assembles heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) components for automakers in the region. A ceremony marking the start of production was attended by guests including local government officials, customers, suppliers, company leaders and plant employees.

“This new facility in Brazil represents an important expansion of HVCC’s global footprint to capitalise on business opportunities and support our customers’ global platforms,” said YH Park, president and CEO of Halla Visteon Climate Control. “We are pleased to expand HVCC’s global reach to South America and to provide localization opportunities to customers in this important region.”

The new facility, HVCC Climatizacoes do Brasil Industria e Comercio Ltda., incorporates HVCC’s standardized global manufacturing and business processes. It has 3,000 square meters (approximately 32,000 square feet) of manufacturing space, with room for expansion based on business needs. Production began in early June, with an initial staffing level of 40 hourly and salaried employees.
