The European vehicle manufacturers trade association, ACEA, is reportedly about to accept Toyota as a member.
According to Automotive News Europe, ACEA will make the announcement in the next few weeks.
ACEA currently represents thirteen European car, truck and bus manufacturers. Its main role is lobbying the European Union institutions.
Toyota has sought membership of the trade association for many years. Toyota first started manufacturing in Europe at Burnaston, England, in 1989, and now also has plants in France and the Czech Republic.
