The Argentinean National Automakers’ Federation (Adefa) announced that 8,919 vehicles were built in January, an increase of 102 percent compared with the 4,416 vehicles produced in the same month of 2002.

In January Argentinean automakers sold 7,171 units, a rise of just 1 percent compared with the 7,099 vehicles sold in December 2002. Against the same month last year, the increase was 96.8 percent.

Ford led the Argentinean market in January. The automaker sold 1,968 vehicles last month. Renault was the second with 1,070 vehicles sold in January. General Motors sold 1,021 vehicles last month and was in the third place.
