Can you tell us a bit about your company and its products?

Since 2011, Celonis has helped thousands of the world’s largest and most respected companies deliver immediate cash impact, improve customer experience, and reduce carbon emissions. Our Process Intelligence platform uses industry-leading process mining technology, like our Object-Centric Data Model, to create a living digital twin of an organization’s end-to-end processes. This view is system agnostic and without bias, showing how processes actually run, not how people think they run. The platform then uses a decade of process improvement knowledge (gained over thousands of implementations) and AI insights to show customers where value is hiding in their processes. We then give customers tools that enable them to capture that value, empowering their people with actionable insights and helping them effectively enable technologies like AI and automation to optimize their processes. For the first time, everyone in an organization has a common language for how the business runs, visibility into where value is hiding, and the ability to capture it. Celonis is headquartered in Munich, Germany and New York City, USA with more than 20 offices worldwide.

What, specifically, do you see as particularly relevant to the automotive sector?

In the automotive sector, Celonis’s Process Intelligence platform offers a transformative solution amidst the industry’s evolving landscape. With smaller, tech-savvy players challenging established norms and accelerating innovation cycles, Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) must swiftly adapt to remain competitive. Celonis provides a vital tool for OEMs to navigate these challenges by offering visibility into end-to-end processes, enabling quicker reactions, and fostering closer relationships with customers. By leveraging process mining technology and AI, Celonis empowers OEMs to streamline operations, increase productivity, and drive innovation, ultimately ensuring their ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment.

Can you give us any examples of sector use-cases, working with automotive clients?

A GlobalData guide: What are digital twins?

A simple definition is that digital twins are a digital representation or model of a physical thing. More of a multi-solution approach to data management than a single product, digital twins enable the user to understand an asset’s condition, run simulations and scenarios, and provide a digital snapshot for future maintenance. Digital twins create a connection, a live bridge, between the physical world and its virtual representation.

By dynamically integrating data and information about an asset, part, process, or system’s lifecycle, digital twins can provide short and long-term efficiency and productivity gains. They go beyond what can be achieved with building information modeling (BIM) or 3D models. They are a data resource that can improve asset design, understand an existing asset’s condition, verify the viability of something being constructed, and run ‘what if’ simulations and scenarios. Digital twins could potentially reduce errors and discontinuities present in more traditional information management methods.

Digital twins differ in complexity. They range from the basic provision of 2D or 3D models of a simple component to fully integrated and highly accurate models of an entire asset, facility, or even a country, in which each element is dynamically linked to engineering, construction, operational, and maintenance data. In most cases, organizations will integrate several digital twins to create an overarching view of assets.
