A liquid fuel flow is injected into the gas turbine engine by a fuel nozzle through a liquid fuel passage in the swirler vane. A fuel-air mixture is created when air flows over the swirler vane and atomises the liquid fuel flow. A traditional air blast atomiser is not necessary thanks to the fuel nozzle.
