The plans for the extensive charging network have been published by Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission.

According to the plan, Beijing also plans to introduce private charging poles.

The EV charging push comes as China grapples with air pollution problems in its cities, a number of which are introducing restrictions on car purchase. So-called ‘new energy vehicles’, including electric vehicles, are also being encouraged.
