Saudi Arabia's national automotive company CEER has launched Exobot, its first flagship electric vehicle range.
Exobot consists of an electric sedan and SUV, the two opening models in a planned line-up of seven vehicles due to launch by 2030, covering midsize and compact segments with a range of propulsion options.
Both models will be manufactured at the CEER manufacturing complex in King Abdullah Economic City.
The sedan measures 5.26m in length, 2.1m in width and 1.43m in height, while the SUV measures 5.02m in length, 2.1m in width and 1.69m in height.
The company was set up by the Public Investment Fund (PIF) in 2022 as a joint venture with Taiwan’s Foxconn, becoming Saudi Arabia's “first” vehicle brand.
The venture forms part of PIF's mandate to diversify the national economy and establish a domestic automotive industrial base under Saudi Vision 2030.
Exobot is rated at 1,111hp and 1,500Nm of torque.
The sedan is designed to accelerate from 0-100km/h in 2.1 seconds with a top speed of 250km/h, while the SUV is said to achieve 0-100km/h in 2.4 seconds with a top speed of 210km/h.
It comes fitted with a 112kWh battery providing up to 670km of range for the sedan and 560km for the SUV, along with an 800V architecture that supports 10-80% charging in under 30 minutes.
Each First Edition vehicle carries a numbered plaque matching its vehicle identification number and is offered in Harrat Grey or White Musk exterior finishes.
The vehicle was unveiled at an event led by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, who also serves as Prime Minister and chairman of the board of directors of PIF.
Crown Prince said: “The launch of CEER’s first vehicles represents another step forward in Saudi Arabia’s progression to build a sustainable and prosperous industrial ecosystem.
“It further enables the automotive sector as a key driver of economic growth, through attracting investments, empowering national talent, and expanding the private sector’s role to further position Saudi Arabia to become a leading regional and global hub for this industry.”
By 2034, CEER is projected to contribute $8bn to Saudi Arabia's GDP and $21bn to trade balance improvement, while creating direct and indirect jobs.
The company has stated it intends to source 45% of vehicle materials locally by 2034.
