Adient reports dip to annual profit

Seating specialist Adient reported a $47m Q4 loss on flat revenue.

David Leggett November 05 2026

Adient has reported a Q4 FY26 (quarter ended 30 September) GAAP net loss of $47M versus net income of $18m in the same quarter of 2025. Revenue was posted at $3.7bn for the quarter, flat on last year.

However, it said Q4 adjusted net income was $40m ($42m in Q4 2025). For the full fiscal year, it said net income was $147m, down 9% on 2025. Full year revenue was up 4% at €15,168m.

It was a mixed Q4 picture for the company across world regions. Adient said the Americas outperformed the market due to strong volumes with key customers as well as pricing. However, EMEA underperformed the market mainly due to customer mix. Consolidated sales in China outperformed the market due to new program launches (primarily NIO, Leapmotor, and Xiaomi). The Rest of Asia region underperformed the broader market driven by softer volumes in Korea and lower exports due to Middle East related disruptions.

Jerome Dorlack, President and Chief Executive Office said: “Fiscal 2026 demonstrated the resilience of our business and the strength of our team’s execution in a dynamic production environment. We grew revenue, held adjusted EBITDA steady and made meaningful progress in the areas within our control. As we enter fiscal 2027, our priorities remain clear: execute our operating plans, improve margins and deliver for our customers.”
