Chinese automotive supplier Yanfeng has launched XiM27, a fully functional concept vehicle built to drivable, production-ready standards as the latest version of its eXperience in Motion (XiM) Smart Cabin platform.
Based on a multi-purpose van layout, XiM27 uses a centralised domain controller connecting infotainment, seating, climate control, door panels and ambient lighting, allowing the cabin to move between different functional settings.

Yanfeng Technology CTO Patrick Nebout said: “The cabin components and innovations are production-ready, designed from day one for safe, comfortable experiences in and above AD Level 3, so time in the car finally feels as valuable as time at home or in the office.”
The platform supports different modular seating configurations.
Full-length floor rails, foldable tables and multiple onboard screens enable seats and floor-mounted consoles to be moved separately.
Seating can also change automatically in position, “firmness” and temperature using patterns learned from individual “user preferences”.
At the front of the cabin, Yanfeng has integrated a 35.4-inch panoramic head-up display into the instrument panel.
The steering wheel is designed to fold into the dashboard to support transitions between manual and autonomous driving modes.
A sliding and rotating centre console includes a dual-zone refrigerator, wireless charging, an extendable worktable and an active oxygen generator with built-in blood oxygen monitoring.
It also features ventilation technology providing adjustable, wave-pattern airflow.
According to Yanfeng, the vehicle illustrates its position as a full-system integrator, bringing together developments across interiors, seating, passive safety, cockpit electronics and exterior design to advance production-ready Smart Cabin offerings aimed at future mobility applications.
Yanfeng has more than 240 sites and approximately 57,000 employees worldwide.
Its technical team includes 4,100 experts based across 12 R&D centres and other regional offices, with capabilities spanning engineering & software development, design and test validation.
