The L03 launch event in Germany also marks the first simultaneous Europe-China launch for Xpeng and the new car is described by the company as its most globally-focused AI vehicle to date.

UK sales of the L03 are planned to commence in 2027.

With the L03, Xpeng says it is bringing its latest AI mobility platform to Europe. It says the vehicle is a premium electric vehicle and a software-defined experience shaped by intelligent driving, connected services and continuous innovation.

Designed by Xpeng’s global design team led by JuanMa Lopez, Vice President of Xpeng Design Center, the L03 ‘brings together creative talent from 23 countries’, the company says.

Xpeng also maintains that the L03 represents the ‘next step in Xpeng’s ambition to make advanced technology feel more intuitive, more useful and more human’. Further, it says that as Xpeng continues to develop its Physical AI mobility ecosystem, the L03 brings the company’s intelligent innovation closer to everyday European driving.

The launch in Munich also showcased how Xpeng is aiming to develop its ‘Physical AI technologies’ for expanding applications ‘from vehicles into robotics, autonomous mobility and flying vehicles’.

Next Generation Pilot

At the core of the L03 is Xpeng’s latest Next Generation Pilot (ADAS system) based on its ‘physical-world foundation model’.

Designed for global deployment, it says the system enables the navigation of complex urban environments, compliance with local road rules, and adapts to diverse driving behaviours. L03 is powered by triple Xpeng Turing AI Chips, delivering 2,250 TOPS computing power.
