The
Volkswagen group will this month be split into two multi-brand car divisions,
each run by two executives, Automotive News said on its website, citing company
sources.

Automotive News said the VW supervisory board at its November 23 meeting would
form a ‘sporty’or ‘southern’division made up of Audi, Lamborghini and Seat,
and a ‘classic’ or ‘northern’ unit that would include Volkswagen, Skoda and
Bentley.

A third unit would be created later to handle light commercial vehicles and
to expand the heavy-truck business, Automotive News added.
