SCT, leading the e-engineering of the process industries, announced today that Valvoline, a division of Ashland Inc., has licensed the Fygir suite of SCT’s iProcess.sct as a supply chain management tool. Valvoline is a leading marketer, distributor and producer of quality, branded automotive and industrial products and services, and is a wholly owned division of Ashland, Inc., a Fortune 500 company. The contract has a total value of more than $4 million in license fees and services.

“In order to fully realize the business benefits of collaboration and the internet, it is essential to employ solid supply chain solutions,” said Jim O’Brien, president of Valvoline. “SCT’s Fygir suite of supply chain products will be an integral piece of the backbone supporting Valvoline’s e-business efforts. The solution will enable our company to be a leader in e-business technology by providing us with a view of our supply chain network, and allowing us to analyze, plan and react.”

Valvoline has licensed the Fygir Supply Chain Planning suite, a component of iProcess.sct, which includes capability for demand planning, supply chain optimization and plant scheduling. The agreement is an enterprise-wide license for use throughout the Valvoline Division, including their Lubricants, Chemicals, and Antifreeze facilities.

“In order to increase and strengthen supply chain relationships in an e-business environment, companies need to employ strong, underlying supply chain solutions that not only support the demands of a web environment, but also the unique requirements of their industry,” said Roy Zatcoff, president of SCT’s process industry solutions unit. “Because of our process industry focus, SCT is able to deliver supply chain solutions that enable process manufacturers to meet the fulfillment expectations generated by their e-business commitments. We are excited to welcome Valvoline into our customer base and look forward to being a part of their e-business vision.”
