Stellantis has opened a vehicle dismantling centre in Casablanca, Morocco, marking the company’s first such facility in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.

The SUSTAINera initiative forms part of Stellantis’ broader 4R strategy – Reman, Repair, Reuse and Recycle – aimed at scaling circular economy activities globally.
The Casablanca operation is Stellantis’ third vehicle dismantling centre worldwide after facilities in Turin, Italy, and São Paulo, Brazil.
The site is intended to support operations in Morocco and Sub-Saharan West Africa.
Located on a 6,000m² site, the facility received an investment of €1.6m ($1.8m) and is expected to process up to 10,000 vehicles a year when operating at full capacity.
Stellantis said the project is expected to generate around 150 direct and indirect jobs.
The centre will manage end-of-life vehicle (ELV) sourcing, dismantling activities, used parts sales and parts collection for recycling.
Vehicles processed at the site will be sourced through insurance companies, auctions and ELV channels.
According to Stellantis, the Casablanca facility will function as a regional industrial pilot to support the development of Circular Economy operations across MEA and contribute to the establishment of a structured and compliant ELV ecosystem in the region.
Reusable original parts recovered through the dismantling process will be supplied via Stellantis’ aftersales network and digital channels, including the B-Parts online marketplace for used automotive parts.
The company added that selected used product categories, including traction batteries, will also be made available through the operation.
Stellantis said its Circular Economy activities in MEA currently include remanufactured parts sales, used original parts distribution through the B-Parts platform, and recycling and ELV partnerships.
These activities are supported through the company’s aftersales network, partner repairers and Distrigo hubs.
The company said its regional Circular Economy strategy is focused on extending the lifecycle of vehicles and components through remanufacturing, reuse and recycling, while also improving resource efficiency and supporting compliance requirements in the aftermarket sector.
Stellantis added that the Casablanca site is the first vehicle dismantling centre established by an automaker in Morocco and is expected to serve as a reference point for organised ELV management in Morocco and the wider MEA region.
Stellantis Micromobility global head and Middle East & Africa COO Samir Cherfan said: “Circular Economy is a strategic priority for Stellantis in the Middle East and Africa. It enables us to combine industrial performance, affordability for customers and the responsible use of resources, while securing our long‑term industrial footprint across the Region.”
