Subaru of Indiana Automotive is due to roll the first B9 Tribeca off the assembly line in Lafayette today at about 8pm BST.

SIA plans to produce more than 26,000 units this year. The crossover was launched in January at the Detroit motor show and will reach dealerships in late May. US prices start at $30,695 and top out at $37,695 for the top-line model with seven seats, leather trim, rear seat DVD player and navigation system.

Subaru set a second consecutive sales record in 2004 with 187,402 units. This was led by re-designed Legacy and Outback models, also built at SIA, that have increased sales 23% since introduction last June.
