Today Nissan North America, Inc. (NNA) and Nissan Motor Acceptance Corporation (NMAC) are launching a Web site dedicated to educating consumers on the vehicle financing process.

The site provides consumers with detailed explanations on how to finance car purchases as well as tips to ensure they get the best financing available for their purchases.

The site also provides up-to-date information on a lawsuit now pending in Nashville, Tenn., Cason v. NMAC. Coleman v. GMAC, a companion case that was filed by the same Plaintiffs’ lawyers against General Motors Acceptance Corporation, is now pending before a different judge in federal District Court in Nashville.

In Cason, the plaintiffs’ have alleged that NMAC inadvertently allowed car dealers to charge higher finance fees to African-American customers than white customers in violation of the federal Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA). The Plaintiffs do not allege that NMAC intentionally discriminated against anyone, including NMAC’s African-American customers.

NMAC vigorously denies the claims and has introduced indisputable statistical and legal evidence that the Plaintiffs’ case is fatally flawed.

To access the Nissan/NMAC Information Center Web site, consumers should log onto headlines.net/nmac.
