The fully redesigned 2003 Range Rover officially goes on sale in North America on Saturday, June 1.

Since the international press launch last January, more than 3,000 North American orders have been placed for the new model.

The HSE, with $US69,330 MSRP, is only the third completely new Range Rover in 31 years.

The new Range Rover – whose predecessors have not been among the leaders of the J D Power reliability surveys – gives US buyers a four-year, 50,000 mile warranty with 24 hour roadside service, six-year, 100,000 mile corrosion cover and no-cost maintenance during the warranty period.

Land Rover, Ford’s UK-based SUV-making subsidiary, hopes to double sales in the US market this year and has launched a major new advertising campaign for the latest Range Rover to spearhead the sales drive.

In 2001, it sold 27,200 vehicles, including the smaller Discovery and new entry-level Freelander.
