General Motors today announced that Rudy Schlais, group vice president and president of GM Asia Pacific, will retire on May 1. Frederick (Fritz) Henderson, 43, GM group vice president and president of Latin America, Africa and Mid-East (LAAM) operations, will replace Schlais, from January 1 with the two men working together for four months to ensure a smooth transition. Maureen Kempston Darkes, GM vice president and president of GM of Canada Ltd., will replace Henderson, also from January 1.
