Long-serving Chrysler executive Paul Wilbur was yesterday named CEO of ASC Inc., the Southgate supplier of automotive concept vehicles, sunroofs and engineering services founded by the late Heinz Prechter, the Detroit News said.

ASC also appointed J.E. “Ted” Robertson as vice chairman for product development, and Scott Koepke to the post of chief operating officer, the newspaper added.

The Detroit News said that Wilbur, 44, replaces David Treadwell, who has served as CEO since Southfield-based Questor Funds acquired ASC earlier this year. Treadwell, a longtime ASC senior executive, will remain on the ASC board.

According to the Detroit News, Wilbur joined Chrysler in 1985 and most recently served as director of marketing and product planning for Jeep and activity vehicle products.

The newspaper said that Robertson is a 34-year veteran of GM, serving most recently as chief engineer for mid-size trucks.
