Chrysler is selling off 2005 Crossfire Coupe and Roadster models for up to US$8,900 off suggested retail price on a website called Overstock.com in a deal running until 3 January.

Salt Lake City-based Overstock describes itself as an online “closeout” retailer offering discount, brand-name merchandise for sale over the internet.

“The company offers its customers an opportunity to shop for bargains conveniently, while offering its suppliers an alternative inventory liquidation distribution channel,” it says on press statements.

“The agreement with Chrysler represents Overstock.com’s first marketing partnership with an automotive brand,” said company president Patrick Byrne in a statement.

Buyers enter their e-mail address in a form on the Overstock website and receive a printable reservation certificate that can be taken to a participating Chrysler dealer to redeem the offer.
