With October 2000 sales of 6,100, Audi of America, Inc. has surpassed total 1999 sales. Audi is marking its best year-to-date in the company’s history with sales of 66,376, up 24 percent. October sales are slightly down from October 1999 sales of 6,763 due to limited availability of vehicles across the model line.
October sales mark the launch of the new Audi allroad quattro, a crossover vehicle offering customers the best of both on- and off-road performance. The national launch of the allroad will happen in November, but some Audi dealers were able to sell early supply and reported sales of 70 for October.
Audi’s hot-selling TT posted major monthly sales gains with October sales of 1,202, up 118 percent over last year’s sales of 552.
From the A6 range, sales were 2,196, down 18 percent over the same month last year when sales totaled 2,666. The Audi A4 reported sales of 2,457 for the month, down 24 percent.
Audi’s all-aluminum flagship A8 reported total sales of 175. In October, the A8 L accounted for 82 percent of all A8 sales.
