Visteon has said will unveil an application ready solution to address V2X communication needs in the US and Europe at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas next month.

V2X technology offers the potential for significant improvements in driver awareness including collision, hazardous road and curve speed warnings and traffic flow information – and is considered a precursor to autonomous driving.

Visteon says it is positioning itself to support V2X through both homegrown technology solutions and strategic partnerships. Visteon has established relationships with partners including NXP Semiconductors and Cohda Wireless, which provided the RoadLINK chipset with proprietary embedded signal processing firmware to optimise V2X performance in a mobile environment.

“Our robust vehicle systems acumen, along with our solid business relationships and industry affiliations, position Visteon for growth in this exciting technology,” said Christian Feltgen, Visteon’s global director of cockpit electronics.
