Toyota is recalling about 20,000 North American made vehicles, mostly in the US, because of the danger of possible fuel leaks.

Toyota Motor Sales USA said the recall involves vehicles with its 2GR-FE engine and includes the 2015 model year Lexus RX, and four 2014 Toyota vehicles: Avalon, Camry, Highlander [aka Kluger] and Sienna.

The carmaker said that a small number of vehicles have been sold in other markets and owners will be contacted. A fuel delivery pipe in the engine could leak because it was not correctly welded by a supplier company. Toyota said it was not aware of any fires, crashes, injuries or fatalities caused by the problem.

All of the affected Toyota models were produced in the US, with the Lexus made in Canada. Some models were exported to South Korea, Russia, Australia and New Zealand as well as parts of Asia and the Middle East.
