Newly privately owned Chrysler has named former Lexus US marketing chief Deborah Wahl Meyer vice president and chief marketing officer, effective 28 August.

Meyer, 44, will be responsible for the marketing and advertising initiatives for the Chrysler, Dodge and Jeep brands globally. In addition, she will oversee all sales promotions and brand events. She will also provide strategic direction for the company’s marketing efforts around the world.

Meyer will report to Steven Landry, executive vice president – North American sales, global marketing, service and parts.

“Deborah Wahl Meyer has a proven track record in the automotive industry, both in North America and globally,” said Landry. “She also clearly understands the dealer network and values partnering to create positive results.”

Meyer joins Chrysler after six years with Toyota Motor Sales, most recently, as the vice president of marketing for the Lexus Division. Prior to Toyota, Meyer was with Ford where she held various positions including marketing communications manager for Lincoln Mercury; group manager, brand strategy and communications, Mazda North American operations; and brand manager, Ford do Brasil.
