Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) is recalling 46,515 SUVs in the US and Canada because of a front passenger air bag issue, according to documents filed with US safety regulators.
There have been no reports of accidents or injuries relating to the problem caused by a part failure that could prevent the airbag from deploying.
The recall, which does not affect any other global markets, involves some 2010 to 2015 LR2 (Freelander) and 2012 and 2013 Range Rover Evoques, because a part in the occupant classification system electronic control unit may fail, disabling the passenger air bag partially or completely, the filings with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.
From the end of this month dealers will update the software at no cost.
