US: Harman books new OEM orders worth US$1.3bn in July

Harman said new orders from global automakers in July were worth US$1.3bn.

Harman said new orders from global automakers in July were worth US$1.3bn.

Deals included a follow-on contract from an unnamed “existing European customer” and to replace a competitor supplying Subaru with several grades of infotainment systems for multiple car lines sold globally.

Top executive Dinesh Paliwal said the $20.5bn order backlog meant Harman was “in the driver’s seat of the connected car”.

Harman claims to supply 22% of embedded infotainment fitted by OEMs worldwide.
