Just hours after Ford announced a package covering new vehicle payments for up to a year, General Motors unveiled a payment protection plan for the first two years of ownership that will provide up to nine payments for up to US$500 per month, though the offer is only good to the end of April while Ford’s is available till June.

The ‘GM Total Confidence’ plan also offers ‘Vehicle Value Protection’ for two years against the purchase of another GM vehicle, a five year/100,000 mile transferable powertrain limited warranty plus roadside assistance and courtesy transport and one year of OnStar ‘Safety and Security’.

The plan is available with vehicles purchased from 1 to 30 April.
