ArvinMeritor is to invest US$23m over the next five years to expand its advanced technologies capabilities at its technical centre in Troy, Michigan.
Chief operating officer Carsten Reinhardt said that the company is investing in technologies that that are focused on fuel efficiency, brake technology, suspensions and vehicle dynamics.
The Troy centre is part of the company’s global engineering network that also includes tech facilities in Cameri, Italy; Cwmbran, Wales; Bangalore, India; Shanghai, China; Monterrey, Mexico and Osasco, Brazil.
The new investment is expected to create 125 jobs at the company by 2014.
