A supplier to Nissan in the US has agreed to plead guilty to conspiring to fix prices on automotive parts.
Japan-based Aisan Industry Co Ltd will pay a criminal fine of US$6.9m, the US Justice Department said in a statement. Aisan becomes the 25th company to be charged in the Justice Department’s ongoing antitrust probe into the auto parts industry.
Aisan took part in a conspiracy lasting nearly seven years to fix bids and prices on electronic throttle bodies, sold to Nissan in the US and elsewhere.
