UK-based body-in-white specialist Stadco on Friday said its Castle Bromwich facility in the West Midlands has achieved Ford Q1 supplier status.
Q1 status is the automaker’s acknowledgement of suppliers who have demonstrated excellence in key areas of supply including ongoing performance, site action planning, customer endorsement and continuous improvement.
Stadco’s Castle Bromwich plant supplies Ford with aluminium skin panels for various Land Rover and Jaguar models. To qualify for the award, Stadco has had to fulfil a stringent set of criteria.
The plant is the largest independent press shop in the UK. Constructed on the former Dunlop tyres site, it opened in March 2004 and was engineered to be fully compatible with the largest press shops of the major vehicle manufacturers.
Stadco also supplies body-in-white panels and assemblies to BMW, Aston Martin, GM and Toyota in Europe. It has five factories in the UK and one in Germany and also operates in South America and India. It recently announced plans to start operations in Russia, supplying the growing number of automakers.
