Peugeot has announced price and specification details of its new 207SW station wagon on sale in the UK next month.
Prices will start at GBP11,340 and a full length ‘Cielo’ glass panoramic roof and ‘innovative’ rear seat folding mechanism will appeal to customers with a “full and active lifestyle”, according to the automaker.
Sharing the same wheelbase as the 207 five door hatchback but with an increased length of 119 mm and 38 mm extra height, the 207 SW provides more rear headroom and interior space. This extra length also creates a larger rear load space of 428 litres (310 litres for the 207 hatchback) and with the rear seats folded, 1,433 litres.
It will be sold from launch with four engine options: two HDi diesels, 1.6 litre 90 bhp and 1.6 litre 110 bhp and two petrol engines developed as part of the co-operation with the BMW group. The first petrol engine option is a new 1.4 litre VTi 95 bhp engine and the second the current 1.6 litre VTi 120 bhp engine also in the 207CC (coupe-cabriolet) and 207 hatchback ranges.
All engines will have a standard manual five speed gearbox and the 1.6 litre VTi 120 bhp petrol engine will have an automatic option.
The 207 SW will be available in the UK with two trim levels, S and Sport.
Standard equipment on all models includes power steering, driver airbag, passenger airbag, side airbags, curtain airbags, remote control central locking with deadlocks, three rear three-point inertia reel seatbelts, electric front windows with one touch for driver, 2/3 – 1/3 split folding rear seat, steering column adjustable for reach and rake, radio/single CD player, passenger seat height adjustment, driver seat height adjustment, body-coloured door mirrors, ABS with EBFD and EBA, trip computer, electrically operated/heated door mirrors, manual air conditioning, front fog lights, aluminium roof bars, Cielo glass panoramic roof with electric sunblind and opening rear tailgate glass.
The Sport version adds 16” ‘Spa’ alloy wheels, sports front seats, leather steering wheel/gear knob and full body-colouring.
If Peugeot UK follows the pattern set by the larger 307SW, a lower-specified range, without items such as the panoramic glass roof, will become available later, aimed primarily at fleet buyers.
